ChinaBuy Agent Toolkit for Chrome

ChinaBuy Agent Toolkit is a browser extension designed to convert product links from Chinese platforms (Weidian, Taobao, Tmall, 1688) into ChinaBuyHub links with your affiliate code included. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

Our extension collects and stores the following information only locally in your browser:

• Link conversion counter: Total number of URLs you have converted using the extension
• Last conversion date: Timestamp of the last time you used the extension
• Configuration preferences: Your personalized extension settings

2. How We Use the Information

The locally stored information is used exclusively for:

• Displaying usage statistics in the extension interface
• Maintaining your configuration preferences
• Improving your user experience

We do not sell, share, or transmit this information to third parties.

3. Extension Permissions

ChinaBuy Agent Toolkit requests the following permissions and uses them exclusively for:

activeTab

Purpose: Detect product URLs on the web page you are currently visiting.

What it does: Reads the active tab URL to identify if it is from Weidian, Taobao, Tmall, or 1688.

What it does NOT do: It does not read page content, nor does it track your browsing history.

storage

Purpose: Save your statistics and preferences locally in your browser.

What it does: Stores the conversion counter and last conversion date in chrome.storage.local.

What it does NOT do: It does not sync data with external servers, nor does it share information with third parties.

clipboardWrite

Purpose: Copy converted links to the clipboard when you click the "Copy" button.

What it does: Writes the generated ChinaBuyHub URL to your clipboard.

What it does NOT do: It does not read clipboard contents, only writes when you request it.

declarativeNetRequest

Purpose: Modify HTTP headers to access products with geographic restrictions on Chinese platforms.

What it does: Changes the User-Agent, Accept-Language, and Referer headers ONLY on weidian.com, taobao.com, tmall.com, and 1688.com domains to simulate browsing from China.

What it does NOT do: It does not modify page content, does not intercept personal data, does not affect other websites.

scripting

Purpose: Inject the floating "Convert to ChinaBuyHub" button on product pages.

What it does: Adds a visual button in the corner of Weidian, Taobao, Tmall, and 1688 pages.

What it does NOT do: It does not modify the original page content, does not read forms or sensitive data.

4. Network Traffic Modification

The extension modifies HTTP headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language, Referer) exclusively on the following domains:

• weidian.com
• taobao.com
• tmall.com
• 1688.com

Purpose: Allow legitimate access to products that have geographic restrictions by simulating browsing from China.

Important: This modification does NOT affect any other website, does NOT intercept sensitive information, and does NOT send data to external servers.

5. Third-Party Services

When you convert a link using our extension, we generate a URL that redirects to:

• ChinaBuyHub.com — Chinese shopping agent
• Includes the affiliate code: FINDSES

This is the only interaction with external services. ChinaBuyHub.com has its own privacy policy which you can consult on their website.

We do not share any personal information with ChinaBuyHub or any other third party.

6. Data Storage

All data is stored locally in your browser using the chrome.storage.local API:

• Data is NOT synced with external servers
• Data is NOT shared between devices
• Data remains on your computer until:
• You uninstall the extension
• You clear site data in Chrome settings
• You manually delete the extension storage

7. Security

We implement the following security measures:

• Use of Manifest V3 (latest Chrome extension version)
• Minimum necessary permissions to function
• No communication with our own backend servers
• Open source and auditable code
• No user tracking or analytics

However, please note that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

As a user of ChinaBuy Agent Toolkit, you have the right to:

• Access your data: You can view stored statistics by opening the extension popup
• Delete your data: Uninstall the extension or delete data from chrome://extensions/
• Opt out: You can disable or uninstall the extension at any time
• Export your data: Although they are only basic statistics, they are visible in the interface

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in:

• Legal requirements
• Privacy best practices

We will notify you of any significant changes via:
